Every entry here is computed from the transform rather than composed by hand. That is the point of the roster: a grid whose cells were set individually would record taste, and a grid whose cells are derived tests whether the transform is complete. It was not, and the corrections appear below before the grid that produced them.
Use the roster two ways. Where the reader matches an entry, take the configuration. Where the reader falls between entries, take the two nearest and read the direction of difference---which is what the grid exists to supply and a genre list cannot.

Load comes first among the instruments because its settings are what a reader's complaint most often points at, land second because its settings are decided before drafting, and vantage last because its costs are the silent ones and it is the instrument that remains when the other two do not explain the reception.
Generating thirty-six configurations from five posture components required the transform to be executable, and four settings turned out to have no governing component. They had been defined without being derivable, which is invisible while configurations are set by hand and fatal the moment they are computed.
ground takes stamina as well as fluency, and the pairing is not decorative. Fluency decides whether the reader holds a compressed form; stamina decides whether a reader who lacks it can infer it from context. The two disagree routinely in the population the roster serves most---a specialist at the end of a hard week holds every term and can assemble no new one---and the disagreement rule resolves the setting high.
linked takes stamina, alongside settled. Both reduce re-anchoring cost, and a reader who cannot carry a reorientation cannot carry a cold sentence opening either.
single takes triage, directly: the less of a document a reader consumes, the more the recurring vocabulary must reduce to the message. A coupling rides on top---where linked sits at 0.70 or above, single rises a further 0.15, since contiguous prose has surrendered its cuts and recurrence is the only emphasis left.
cadence is not posture-governed at all, which took a wrong turn to establish. Deriving it from spread generates the grid cleanly and forbids a register that exists: long-breath sentences carrying concentrated figures, which is dense argumentative prose and is correct for the same specialist a reference card serves in staccato. Cadence is a fact about what kind of document this is. The one enforced constraint is the exclusion the load instrument already stated---spread at 0.70 and above cannot be carried in short declaratives---and below that, cadence is declared rather than derived.
steady derives from headroom and scrutiny. A depleted reader is destabilized by valence movement, and an adversarial one reads calm about serious matters as command of the situation. Both push high, and the grid holds steady above 0.80 throughout---which is correct for every reader who is obliged to be reading, and wrong for every reader who is not.
The cadence correction generalizes past cadence. Four inputs come from the writer rather than the reader: cadence from document kind, steady from genuine emergency, priority wherever extent is fixed by a form or a limit outside the reading, and office from the document's office. The transform is reader-driven with exactly those four exceptions, and each is a question about what the writer is making rather than about who will receive it.
Two settings also needed conflict rules rather than single derivations. flat takes the higher of its headroom-derived and scrutiny-derived values, conceding 0.15 toward the scrutiny pull where they disagree, which is the yield law applied to a known conflict rather than to uncertainty. bare takes a headroom ceiling as well as its scrutiny value, since pre-emptive defense is itself load and a depleted reader cannot carry it however adversarial the setting.
The grid holds steady high everywhere, and that exposed a fact the five components could not express. Two readers may share fluency, stamina, appetite, scrutiny, and triage and still want opposite affective weather, because one is obliged to read and the other is not. A professional who opens a memo and decides whether to descend, and a casual reader who meets an explainer and decides whether to continue, perform the same triage from entirely different positions: the first owes the writer the reading, and the second owes nothing and departs without complaint.
oblige --- how far the reader is obliged to read at all. 1.0 is a reader whose attention is secured by role or relationship. 0.0 is a reader present by choice, who will leave the moment the prose asks for effort.
Obligation is a posture component and carries full standing in the ontology. The grid nonetheless holds it high, which covers professional correspondence entirely, and handles low obligation as an overlay rather than as a fourth axis---voluntary readers cluster tightly at two triage behaviors, and a full cross would double the roster to populate cells that do not occur. The overlay is a presentation economy and should not be read as ontological status. The overlay follows the grid.
Version 1.1 adds a fourth writer-supplied input and the two settings it floors. office declares what the document does with its facts: construct, where the facts are inventory for what to build next and sequence is largely arbitrary; judicial, where the facts are evidence about decisions already taken and the question is not what is reasonable altogether but what was reasonable at each point in time. iuxta sets how far each claim arrives carrying the knowledge state it belonged to. sequent sets how closely composition sequence tracks chronology.
Both are reader-derived within floors the declaration sets, and the floors do not yield. sequent takes stamina through capacity, less a declared discount of 0.20, since re-timing cost is real but smaller than reorientation cost and topical order supplies its own economy. iuxta takes scrutiny directly, an adversarial reader re-timing the material whether or not invited.
The pair is generated together. Where sequent runs more than 0.35 above iuxta, the transform raises iuxta to close the gap; the excluded region is the bare chronology---perfect order carrying no epoch---which is the configuration that manufactures a false verdict most efficiently, precisely because its ordering discipline is visible and its epoch silence is not. Both constants are declared rather than measured, and they are the framework's live tuning surface.
Like obligation, the judicial case is handled as an overlay. It follows the grid.
The identifier is headroom band, scrutiny level, triage behavior. Headroom bands run C1 low, C2 mid, C3 high; scrutiny runs S1 settled, S2 guarded, S3 adversarial; triage runs T1 full, T2 scan, T3 decide, T4 sentence.
Entries print in the order given in the templates above: the document-side declarations, then posture, then load, land, and vantage, with the categorical setting last within each group.
Each entry is declared construct on the office line, which is the default and the case the grid spans. The judicial declaration is an overlay following the grid, and it replaces rather than adjusts the fields it touches.
Every scalar carries a tolerance of plus or minus 0.10, widening to 0.20 wherever the components governing it disagree by more than 0.30. The tolerance is the experimental range, not a margin of error: a first attempt takes the center, a second takes the edge the first attempt's reception implicates, and a third is synthesized from the difference.
The bullets beneath each entry are its gradients---the single-setting moves that adjust it for the nearest posture deviations. An entry with gradients is a local map; an entry without them is a lookup, and lookups fail exactly when the reader is not on the list.
Headroom bands are composites. Where fluency, stamina, and appetite pull apart, the grid gives the band and the gradients give the decomposition.

Read the deltas as replacements rather than adjustments. iuxta and sequent take floors from the declaration and do not yield to the reader; where a cell already sits at or above a floor the floor is silent and the field does not appear below. place and single move only in consequence: composition sequence has been handed to the chronology, so arrangement is no longer available to carry emphasis and recurrence takes the load it drops.

The adversarial cells barely move, because scrutiny had already carried iuxta to 0.85 on its own---an adversarial reader re-times the material whether or not invited, which is the same fact about time that the declaration asserts about the document, arriving from the reader's side instead of the writer's. place loses defer in every full-reading cell, which is the one place office narrows a choice triage had already made: full takes defer or coda, and the judicial declaration removes the first because the build now belongs to the chronology rather than to the argument.
One cell engages the coupling refusal. At C1-S1-T1 constructive, sequent at 0.65 stands more than 0.35 above the iuxta its scrutiny would produce, so the transform raises iuxta from 0.20 to 0.30. The depleted settled reader in a constructive document is the single posture that drifts toward bare chronology unaided, and it is the cell to watch if the gap constant is ever retuned.
For a reader present by choice. Apply to any grid cell; the deviations are few because low obligation changes the reader's terms rather than the reader's capacity.
The deltas below are the full-scale case, at obligation 0.0 against the 0.90 the grid holds. Intermediate readers scale them: take (0.90 - oblige) over 0.90, clamped to the unit range, and apply that fraction. A reader at 0.70 takes a little over a fifth of each delta, which moves steady from 0.92 to 0.78 and settled from 0.75 to 0.64 --- not the voluntary case, and not the obliged one either.

Note what does not move. plain, ground, and sparse stay where headroom put them, because a casual reader's capacity is whatever it is and voluntariness does not change it. The overlay reverses the professional default on exactly two settings, and the two it reverses are the two that govern whether a reader arrives at all.
The scroller is this overlay applied to any T4 cell: attention available for one sentence, won or lost inside it. The casual reader is the overlay applied to C2-S1-T3. Both were catalogued as distinct postures before the grid existed, and both turn out to be one modifier away from cells the grid already holds.
The roster and the derivations are one artifact seen from two sides. A derivation is the transform applied to one posture with its reasoning shown; the grid is the set of derivations whose results were worth caching. Three are worked here---the canonical case, a conflict, and an off-grid posture---and the procedure they demonstrate generates the rest.
Posture. Fluency 0.60: the reader knows the domain without living in it. Stamina 0.50: attention secured, time scarce. Appetite 0.40: wants the finding and holds the craftsmanship that produced it as someone else's concern. Scrutiny 0.15: not evaluating the writer. Triage full: reads it through or delegates it entirely.
Capacity is the lower of fluency and stamina, so 0.50, and the base for the capacity-governed settings is 0.50. settled, linked, and sparse take it directly.
Appetite at 0.40 sits marginally below neutral, nudging spread up to 0.53---the reader will not thank you for compression but is not injured by its absence either. plain derives from fluency at 0.42, and ground from capacity plus the asymmetry allowance at 0.65, since a term left unfounded degrades everything downstream while a term founded unnecessarily costs one sentence.
Scrutiny at 0.15 puts bare at 0.90 and attribute at artifact. The pre-emptive defense that an auditor requires reads to this reader as a signal of trouble.
Triage full takes place defer and priority content.
The result is unremarkable, which is the finding. The canonical professional document sits near the middle of nearly every setting, and the roster's value is not here but at the cells where something pulls.
Posture. An adversarial reader by role, at the end of a long engagement. Fluency 0.20 in this particular subject matter, stamina 0.15, appetite 0.25, scrutiny 0.85, triage full.
The conflict is explicit. Scrutiny at 0.85 wants flat at 0.30---three perspectival strata per sentence, the provenance of every assertion carried in its syntax. Capacity at 0.15 wants flat at 0.90, because a reader in this state cannot hold three anchors open to the end of a sentence.
Yield resolves it. The conflict rule takes the higher value, conceding 0.15 toward the scrutiny pull, and flat lands at 0.75. The consequence is not that provenance is abandoned but that it moves: out of syntax and into structure. attribute at agent names the source in the sentence rather than nesting a stance about it, and an explicit provenance apparatus---a source line, a citation, a table---carries what layered framing would have carried.
bare resolves the same way. Scrutiny wants 0.15, the headroom ceiling lifts it to 0.35. Every claim is still defended; the defense is short and adjacent rather than woven through the assertion.
This is the entry that justifies the grid. Neither instinct alone produces it. Configuring for the auditor produces prose the reader cannot process; configuring for the depletion produces prose the reader will not accept.
Posture. Fluency 0.25---this is not their field. Stamina 0.80, rested and willing. Appetite 0.90, a reader who wants compression and resents its absence. Scrutiny 0.20. Triage scan.
No cell holds this. Credit is bounded by the weaker of fluency and stamina, so capacity is 0.25 and the composite lands near C1. But appetite at 0.90 is a C3 value, and appetite overrides fluency wherever they disagree.
Take the two nearest cells and read the difference. C1-S1-T2 supplies settled 0.85, linked 0.85, sparse 0.85---all stamina-governed, and stamina here is high, so all three are wrong. C3-S1-T2 supplies them at 0.15, which stamina supports. The capacity-governed settings therefore resolve from C3 and the fluency-governed settings from C1.
The synthesis. settled 0.20, linked 0.20, sparse 0.25, taken from stamina. plain 0.80, taken from fluency, and ground 0.90, taken from capacity, which fluency binds here: this reader wants terms defined despite being rested enough to infer them, because inference costs attention better spent on the argument. spread 0.20, taken from appetite over fluency: compress the contrasts, gloss the vocabulary. place frame from triage.
The configuration is internally strange and correct. Dense, mobile, compressed prose in plain glossed vocabulary---which is exactly what a good popular science article for a scientist looks like, and exactly what neither a C1 nor a C3 archetype would have produced.
The stated practice is to try one configuration, try a second, and synthesize a third from what the two revealed. The grid supports it directly, and the support is structural rather than incidental.
The first attempt takes an entry's centers. If the reception is unsatisfactory, the reader's complaint identifies a setting through the instruments' reverse diagnosis, and that setting's tolerance edge is where the second attempt goes---not a fresh guess, but the same configuration displaced 0.10 or 0.20 in the direction the complaint indicates.
The second attempt is often better because the first was correct for the assessed posture and the assessment was slightly wrong. The difference between the two attempts measures the assessment error, and the third configuration corrects the posture rather than the prose. This is why the correction should be recorded against the posture component and not against the document: a posture corrected fixes every subsequent document for that reader.
Where the two attempts bracket, interpolate. Grid neighbors differ by one band on one axis, so a target between them is a linear interpolation with widened tolerance. Where they do not bracket---where both attempts fail in the same direction---the posture was misassessed on a component neither attempt varied, and the diagnosis returns to the transform.
Thirty-six cells span the professional range and do not exhaust it. The grid holds obligation high and office constructive, treats headroom as a composite, and samples each axis at three or four points. A reader whose components pull in three directions at once is served by the derivation procedure and not by any entry.
The grid also cannot validate itself. Its cells are computed from a transform whose governance assignments are reasoned rather than measured, and the four corrections recorded at the head of this document were found by generating configurations, not by inspecting the rules. Further corrections will arrive the same way: from a cell whose output a practitioner recognizes as wrong, traced back to the assignment that produced it.
The roster was commissioned to seed trial and error, and it did something else first. Four settings had been defined precisely and left underived, which no amount of hand-configuration would have exposed, since a writer setting a value by judgment never notices that no rule was available to set it. Computing the grid was the audit.
It also produced one wrong answer, and the wrong answer was worth more than three of the right ones. Forced to derive cadence from something, the transform derived it from spread, and the result forbade a register that exists---which is how a model announces that it has been asked for a determination the world does not supply. Three settings turn out to take a document-side input, and the demand that everything derive from the reader was itself the error.
The sixth posture component surfaced the same way, from a uniformity rather than an error: steady held above 0.80 in all thirty-six cells, and a setting that never varies across a spanning grid is either constant in the world or governed by something the grid does not contain. It was the second, and what the grid did not contain was the difference between a reader who must read and a reader who may leave. The instrument had been built by people writing to readers who had to read them, and the assumption was so thoroughly satisfied that it had never needed stating---which is the ordinary way a framework acquires a blind spot, and the ordinary way a spanning grid finds one.
Both discoveries have the same shape, arriving from opposite directions. A setting that would not vary had a cause outside the model; a setting that had no cause was being forced to take one. Neither is visible in a configuration set by hand, because judgment supplies the missing rule silently and never reports having done so.
